The Alabama Senate passed a bill that would repeal the state’s requirement for a permit to carry a concealed handgun after about an hour and a half of discussion. Democratic senators opposed the bill and said it would hurt public safety.
OK: Oklahoma House GOP advances bill to ban transgender athletes from women’s sports
On a party-line vote, the Arizona House Rules Committee passed the “Save Women’s Sports Act,” which would block transgender girls and women from competing on female sports teams at public schools or universities.
AZ: Pro-gun bills pass Arizona Senate committee
Bills allowing loaded guns on Arizona school campuses and guns in public areas passed the House and now the Senate Judiciary Committee on party lines. Senate Democrats spoke against the bills and said more guns will allow for more violence, but Republicans said “bad guys” with guns should be stopped by “good guys” with guns.
